The IX GolfMatchPlay World Amateur Championship 2024 took place from the 15th to the 20th of January across prestigious golf courses in Dubai, including ⛳ Montgomerie Golf Club Dubai, ⛳ Dubai Hills Golf Club, ⛳ The Els Club At Dubai Sport City, and ⛳ Arabian Ranches Golf Club.

In a thrilling competition that showcased exceptional talent from around the world, participants from Latvia, Sweden, Norway, UAE, Ireland, Finland, India, and Ukraine came together to vie for the championship title.

The IX GolfMatchPlay World Amateur Championship 2024 commenced with a warm Welcome Breakfast at Monty’s Terrassa. Mr. Claes Settergren delivered an encouraging speech, extending good wishes to all participants for the upcoming tournament.

Following the welcome, a random lottery determined the match play pairs for Dubai 2024, signaling the start of the IX GolfMatchPlay World Amateur Championship 2024. To intensify the competitive spirit, additional prizes were introduced, including rewards for the longest drive, closest to the pin, and a $1000 Wild Card for a hole-in-one, amplifying the excitement of the game.

On January 17th, @The Els Club, Dubai witnessed an exhilarating day of golf with 32 players and 8 GolfMachPlay semi-finalists, generating endless enjoyment and excitement on the greens.

On January 18th, 2024, GolfMatchPlay hosted an unforgettable yacht party in Dubai, UAE, as part of the Annual Championship festivities. Participants and their companions enjoyed a day filled with excitement, relaxation, and camaraderie.

The event featured thrilling water activities including jet skis, flying doughnuts, and the renowned flying board, ensuring an adrenaline-pumping experience for all attendees. Against the backdrop of Dubai's picturesque scenery, guests soaked up the sun and savored delicious food and drinks while dancing to the beats of our onboard DJ.

Following two days of intense golf competition, the yacht party provided a well-deserved opportunity for relaxation and fun in the perfect Dubai weather. It was a day filled with laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

The IX GMP World Amateur Championship 2024 Gala Dinner & Awards Reception, held at Montgomerie Golf Club Dubai on January 20, 2024, marked the culmination of five days of golfing excitement. Participants and sponsors alike contributed to the event's success, creating unforgettable memories.  

Tom Muldoon from Ireland has triumphed as Champion in the IX GMP World Amateur Championship 2024, demonstrating remarkable prowess on the golf course. His stellar performance has secured him the coveted Trophy, symbolizing his excellence in the sport. Congratulations to Tom Muldoon for this well-deserved win!

Additional competitions on Day 1 added to the excitement for the tournament. Stephen Coleman from Ireland claimed victory in the Longest Drive on Hole #9 (Men's category), while  Elizabete Binde from Latvia showcased her skill by winning the Longest Drive on Hole #12 (Ladies' category). Lorcan Rafferty from Ireland demonstrated precision by winning the Nearest to Pin on Hole #13.

A heartfelt appreciation goes out to the ambassadors of 2023, Tom Muldoon and Maria Dunkel, whose dedication and passion played a pivotal role in fostering the growth of the GolfMatchPlay community for 2023. Their contributions have laid a strong foundation for another successful year ahead in 2024.

The IX GolfMatchPlay World Amateur Championship 2024 proved to be an outstanding success, showcasing the essence of competitive spirit, camaraderie, and amateur golf excellence. Additionally, it fostered a valuable network for golfers, both on and off the course.
